How can I get there on my own? Is there a public bus in Ketchikan?

You need a car, or take a tour from the dock visitor center. The Ketchikan bus does not go there as far as I know. BUT do confirm this, contact the visitor center, www.visit-ketchikan.com I have rented from Alaska car rental several times. They have allowed me in the past to drop off the car at the dock, verify if this is still an option.
