Default Vancouver Hotel on E. Hastings St.

Hello All,

Can anyone tell me about the area on E. Hastings St. in Vancouver B.C. ???? I
booked a hotel online after some Internet research. The hotel is called the
Budget Inn Patricia Hotel on 403 E. Hastings St. The website claims it is a 3-star
hotel with an aerial view of a huge complex complete with swimming pools and
the ocean in the rear. I then checked another site and it claims it is only a 2-star
hotel. I also been hearing on the Internet chat lines that this is a crappy area
with prostitutes, bums, transients, and drug dealers.

What can you tell me????

Thank you,

Tinker

Note: I don't mind te prostitutes !!!!

Choose somewhere else. There have been very good reports on the success of Priceline. Consider a 4 * downtown area. You won't get a bad hotel.

Last Sept., we stayed one night at the Atrium Inn on Hastings, as that is where our tour leader booked. It was a fairly nice hotel, but not a great area. On our return from our cruise, I booked with Priceline & got the Hyatt Regency for a great rate. We were pleased with it & the area. We just used Priceline again on a trip to San Diego, & got the Residence Inn for $50. So don't be afraid to use them.

We are staying at the Westin Bayshore after our Mercury cruise. With the help of www.biddingfortravel.com and Priceline, it was only $45 US/night.

You should avoid that area unless you have a police escort! Make sure your hotel is WEST of Granville Street -- that's the dividing line between the business district and the seedy area you want to avoid.
