Default Sea conditions in Alaska

Please let me know if you have cruised to or from Seward Alaska and what the sea conditions were. I'm thinking about taking a cruise there in July but get sea sick and heard that the seas there could be very rough. Thanks for your help! Nancy

We were just there and had beautiful weather. Most of the time you'll be in sheltered water. I think the seas for most of the week were 0.3 - 1.5 feet which is vary calm. When we weren't in protected waters they were rated 1.5 - 4.0 feet, which is considered very smoothe but made some people a little sea sick. I know it could get much worse if the weather doesn't cooperate. Try a patch or dramamine or ginger. Also, sucking on a peppermint helps quiet the queasies. My husband had some side effects from bromine, so I'm not recommending it, but it did keep both of us from getting sea sick.
