Default California/Alaska

We have seen a stay/cruise taking in Vegas/LA/SF/Grand Canyon and then cruise to Alaska

Can anybody help with advice on whether this is a good idea or should we plan our own land stay (with a less intensive itinery) and then pick up an Alaskan Cruise.

Also what will the weather be like in may.

Thanks in advance

Tours can pack a lot in. And certainly be great planning. Look over the schedule carefully and factor in transit times. Make sure you have enough time at the "attraction". Have you looked at YMT tours? I sailed Alaska twice with a group on board, they all seemed to be very satisifed??
