Default Princess Lodges...Mt McKinley

Ok Gang,
Yet another question. Have gotten 3 different answers so I am putting this out to you all. We are interested in staying at the Princess Mt McKinley Wilderness lodge. Do they have a pizza spot etc. Heard that they do (AAA and the Net) Princess says no. Hmm... planning on staying there for 2 nights w/ the kids. Also supposedly have a small playground (AAA) Anybody been there with kids? Thanks
Anne

FINE FOOD, FABULOUS VIEW
Anytime you travel with Princess, you're sure to sample outstanding cuisine in remarkable settings. The Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge carries on that tradition with a dining experience for every taste. Enjoy sophisticated cuisine and panoramic views in the Mountain View Restaurant, casual fare in the Cub Café, or the best pizza on the south side of Denali National Park at Expedition Pizza. Choose appetizers and your favorite refreshment in Grizzly's Lounge or while relaxing on the outdoor terrace. At Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge we cater to your every mood

Yes- taken directly from the McKinley Princess site. Budget about 50% more than at home to allow for a cushion. This is a lovely lodge- but few activites there- and no certain McKinley views. Hopefully you have a car??? You can day visit Beyers Lake- can hike around the lake, rent Kayaks. Little Coal creek is also an excellent trail nearby. Both part of the Alaska state park system. Be sure to head into Talkeetna- great area for McKinley flights and on "pizza" night at the Roadhouse- your kids would be happy. But great food here anyway.

Thanks,
Yes, we have a car. Cruised with Princess in Dec. and decided then to try their lodges. Figured this was as close to Denali as we wanted to get. Am sure we will see the Mt flying in or at some point during our week. Thanks for the info
Anne

Frankly, if you are all the way to the McKinley lodge- there is no comparism with the activities at the National Park, nor the scenery. It is considered a high point of Alaska touring for a lot of people. I never fail to go there- even in the winter.
