Default Columbia Jacket

I saw a Columbia jacket on sale at noon today and I don't know if I'll be able to find one next summer before I go on my Alaska cruise or not. It was normally $200 and on sale for $100. It was the kind with the zip out liner, and looked really nice. Is this a good price on a Columbia jacket, does anyone know? I thought this might be the time of year to buy some Alaska clothes, because I don't think I'll find any in July. Thanks......
Happy Cruising.....Anita

You will definately need a jacket for Alaska, and I found the ones with the liners that zip out work perfectly, as the weather is unpredictable and be quite cold, but also can be moderately warm but raining (hence zipping out the liner is a big plus).

I don't know if it's a great price, but it seems good.

Anita - it sounds like a good price to me - I mean half off? Excellent price. If it has a lining that zips that's good - its what you want.

Yes, that's a very good price for Columbia. I've been more than happy with Columbia products in the past.

Will you have use for it outside of the Alaska trip??? If not, a lightweight lined nylon jacket that you already may have- will work well with layers, which is the key. You don't want a jacket too heavy that will only be worn when cold. You need an good overall jacket that you can add and subtract from. I have a Walmart- cheap removable lined nylon jacket. Has worked perfectly for at least the last 5 years.
