Princess Four Glacier Adventure vs. Mendenhall Glacier Helic

Anyone have an opinion on which of these tours to take. We do not want to be on the Glaciers too long. Not into hiking.

We did the Four Glacier tour. We were on the glacier for about 20 minutes. It just allows time for you to take pictures and walk around, maybe 30 yards from the helicopter. This was the best tour we took. We went at 11:00 and were the first group to get to go in by the more scenic route. Earlier groups went in over water because of morning mists.

There is NO advantage to seeing Mendenhall Glacier, only that it is more well known. ANY glacier landing is spectacular on the Juneau icefield, in a constant state of change. These are run by different operators- ship contracted. I would also suggest you may want to consider booking independent with Coastal out of Juneau, an excellent company of which I have flown with 3 out of my 6 glacier helicopter landings. The one landing is $180. It allows you off the helicopter and you can walk as little as you choose- no ice climbing or trekking.
