Default Kayak in Ketchikan

I am leaving for my first trip to Alaska on Aug 8th on the Princess Sapphire. I was considering a Kayak excursion in Ketchikan with Southeast Tours? Has anyone used them before? Has anyone kayaked in Ketchikan before? Any info would be appreciated.

I just returned from Alaska and did a trip with SE. We had the pleasure of having weather in the 80's, so our tour with them was especially good...a bit mellow for my taste, but good considering I was with others less comfortable on the water. They take you on a 20 minute ride on a power boat away from the busy port. They then tour around the coves and islands. We stopped for lunch and swam in the water....

I would recommend them highly.

Shifrja,
Did you see any wildlife or any whales? Was it mellow because the waters were so calm? Im having to drag my husband to go with me, he is very hesitant to take this tour, but I know we will have a great time.

This is not a wildlife area and you are not going to see whales- less than 5% chance. It is scenery based and they have several tour options. I actually liked the trip up Creek St. I have gone with them twice, very well run company.

We saw a lot of Eagles, a few seals, and jumping salmon. You are not going to see whales on this trip. Drag him along - it is a great trip.
