Remove Dividers Between Balconies on Carnival Spirit?

We are cruising with 3 other families on August 3rd of 2005 on the Carnival Spirit to Alaska. On a prior trip the we were able to remove the divider to make a larger balcony where we could visit with other family members. I called Carnival and they don't think the dividers can be removed on the Spirit. Has any done this before? Also, has any stayed in the stateroom 7258 with the extended balcony? It's near the elevators and was afraid it might be noisy in the stateroom.

Ask your room steward and he can arrange to have them removed on the Spirit.
