For clairfication- there is NO ferry Seatac to Vancouver that doesn't involve a significant amount of time and 2 ferries. You would have to ferry to Victoria then get the downtown Vancouver bus and ferry from Swartz Bay to Twassessen, then ride to Vancouver. Then maybe a cab if they do not drop at Canada Place?? This would involve a significant amount of time and if you are going to Victoria you may as well stay there and see something- not just pass through.

Last June 2004 we sailed on the Celebrity Summit to Alaska. This ship is rated 5.5 stars (better than Royal Carib, Holland, NCL). Simon Weir was the cruise director and he is amazing for all ages. We started in Seward Alaska and ended up in Vancouver. The ship, rooms, service, nightly shows and food was excellent, excellent, excellent. The slightest request taken care of immediately. My husband and I, along with 5 kids from 3 months, 10. 12, 14, 16 went on this cruise. This is definitely an upscale cruise with 1900 people on board, maybe 100-150 kids at most we were told, although we never saw many of them. There were 2 formal days and a photographer is always on hand and I would recommend getting your photos taken every evening against a different backdrop and at the end of the cruise decide what you want to purchase. Our waiters remembered that the kids liked special berries and shrimp cocktail whether it was on the menu or not and made sure it arrived at our table without asking a second time. We ate most meals at night in the main dining room and went to every show. It is a great cruise for the older crowd, and although we were probably one of the youngest there, it was fine by us not to listen to a bunch of poorly behaved kids versus elderly sleeping individuals. THIS CRUISE IS A WINNER AND SIMON WEIR IS FABULOUS!
