Currency for Vancouver cab

We will be arriving in Vancouver on HAL cruise and will be making transfer to the airport. As the cruise line transfer prices seem steep, thought we'd take a cab instead. Will I need to convert some USD to CAD to pay for the ride, or will cabbies take USD equivalent?

Most Vancouver cabs take credit cards. Will be about $26+++ ca. there can be SIGNIFICANT lines for cabs, so if you pack light with a good rolling bag- head upstairs to the Pan Pacific and tip the doorman for a cab- will likely be available in minutes. Allow 30 mins. for a cab to the airport- heavy stop and go city driving sometimes. So have a flight after 1pm.

When we used cabs in Vancouver, they were happy to convert our US cash for the cab fare, wasn't a problem.

But using cash will result in a POOR exchange. It is better using a credit card in my experience.
