tracy arm

We will be on the Princess Sun (northbound) this July. I have read in some places that all cruise ships sail through tracy arm to get to Juneau? I was interested in booking a day cruise into Tracy Arm, but not if we go there already! This isn't listed on the itinerary, does anyone know?

No you do not sail Tracy Arm. But this takes up all of your Juneau port day and for first time visitors I recommend seeing Juneau. My opinion only.

Thanks for the advice. Seeing Juneau isn't really a priority since we will have time in Ketchikan and Skagway. We're not big shoppers and would rather spend our time in the outdoors. I think the Tracy Arm cruise (we're looking at Adventure Bound) sounds perfect- however, I don't know if this will be too similar to the Sun Princess "scenic cruising" Glacier Bay and College Fjord. What are your thoughts?

on my last brief trip to Alaska Tracy Arm was my favorite place. We used Goldbelt Tours. - a Native Alaskan owned company. We also toured Glacier Bay on the same trip. Tracy Arm was much more intimate. I have headr that the large ships go there now but I cannot imagine what it takes to manuever through that area. If you love the outdoors then you will love Tracy Arm
