Will a 68-year old lady have problems flightseeing?
My wife and I will be travellng with my 68-year old aunt. She is still strong for her age but i'm trying to be careful on which tours i should choose. I'm sure she wouldn't mind if we leave her while my wife and i go to more "active" tours, but i wouldn't want to be leaving her more than a couple of times.
so, i'm wondering which tour can she or can't she go...
I'd like to do all these things but can she?
1) flightseeing
2) dog sledding
3) kayaking (it will be nice if there are kayaks for 3 people, so she won't have to paddle)
4) helicopter tour
5) others???
Re: Will a 68-year old lady have problems flightseeing?
This is really going to depend on how mobile she is. Because small planes are a primary mode of transportation in Southeast Alaska 70, 80 year people get in the same kind of planes that are used for flightseeing every day. But getting in a small plane or a helicopter is a bit of a contortion.
I would suggest you ask her what she would like to do. I'm sure she'll be very frank about either "wow, that sounds like fun" or "I don't think I can do that".
Please understand that although the demographics have changed to the younger in recent years, most of these trips were developed when the majority of cruise passengers were in their 60's and 70's.

I'm taking my 83 year old mother and 85 year old father on the Floatplane/Cruise in Ketchikan....can't see where there would be a problem. We did it last year and loved it.

She's only 68, ask her what she thinks she wants to do. She'll know what she's up to, and most of those activities are pretty tame, ask her about the kayaking though, some people wouldn't want to do that( I think is sounds fun) .
