Has anyone used Dolly Varden Tours, and are they reliable? Would you know anything about their Orca's Cove Kayaking Adventures? Are the chances high that we may get to see whales? If there are whales, is it possible for them to tip the kayak? I'm sure that most will say that anything is possible, but have you heard of this happening to anyone that you know?
Nope- very LITTLE chance of whale sightings. I have only heard of ONE sighting over many years. I don't use middle men booking Alaska tours, always booking direct. The vender you are looking at is Southeast Kayak out of Ketchikan.
To the question is Dolly Varden reliable--the answer is YES. I work with them in my business and have nothing but good things to say about them. they carefully choose the vendors they work with and I know Jane goes the extra mile for her customers.
The one advantage of working with local tour brokers is that hey know the vendors and unreliable vendors are quickly dropped
Having said that I will also say that Southeast Kayaks is great also.
