Default Welcome to Ketchikan

Hey everyone, local from Ketchikan. Seeing if anyone has questions about tours or what to do in Ketchikan. The old timers are saying it is going to be another warm and sunny year. A couple of places I recommened is fishing and the lumberjack show.

True Alaskan Charters is a great fishing charter and the Great Alaskan Lumber Jack show is great for all ages.

Alaskandude, I have to chuckle at the "warm" comment. Being from Deep South Texas, warm here is 95+ degrees in July! We will be in your lovely city first of August and trying to pack accordingly. "Warm" for Ketchikan is ???? Looking forward to our trip. Any suggestions on something unusual that maybe the locals know about that maybe our cruiselines don't offer?

We are doing Princess cruises starting from Vancouver 5-16. We have booked through Princess the Totem and Town Tour and Ketchikan by horse drawn trolley. Are these tours okay or duplication. Do you recommend Saxman (?)j village over Totem and Town TOur, if yes, reason. Also, do you know if we can walk to town where the ship docks . THanks for your help.

We will be visiting your fair city 1st week of June via the Island Princess. Last trip we took in the Lumbarjack show and were entertained. Do you have any information on the quality of the Adventure Kart Expedition? This seems to be the pick for this trip, but would appreciate any feedback you may have.

See you in June,

Alaksandude -

I will be on the cruising from Vancouver 5/9 - 5/16. We are in Ketchikan and taking a flightseeing tour of Misty Fjords. The tour is scheduled from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. I am pretty sure the ship departs around 2:30. We were torn as to whether to flightsee or kayak but it seems that flightseeing is a preference, hands down. Anyway, like Sea Trekker, we are looking for suggestions of what to do or must see while in town from 10 a.m - 2:00 pm.
