Default shore excursion gratuities

Hi there,
I have a question about how much to tip the shore excursion operators? does anyone have a idea what is the norm? The reason i ask is because i am looking at a nice size bill for shore excursions and i need to know how much to bring for tips. Thanks much for your info

I ALWAYS tip on shore excursions, usually about $5-10 for a full day tour, less for partial day.

karen....Thanks for the info on the $5-10 full day tour..less if partial day. Would this amount be sufficient to cover the more expensive tours? For the two of us, the dog/sled/helicopter tour is $800 and the floatplane tour is $400. As you know, both only last a few hours. What amount tip would you recommend on these two tours? Thanking you in advance.

I would tip $5-10 per person, my opinion only. More if they helped you out a lot.

Curious, would this also apply if you are taken by the owner/operator?

Absolutely, I don't care who takes me on the tour, if I like it, I tip.
