Default cruisetours

We have been trying tp decide which tour to take in 2006. We have been thinking abvout the Alaska tour from Anchorage to Prudhoe Bay, then flly back to Anchorage and cruise to Vancouver. It is described as a 14Day tour, I haven't seen any posts on this. It sounds quite exciting. Is ther any advice for a first time cruiser.

Prudhoe Bay is anything but exciting. Do your homework and determine if this is what you think it is?? Very industrial ugly area, the bus ride back is long and boring. Miles and miles of miles and miles. Scenery isn't the forte here compared to other Alaska areas. I have seen "shell shocked" travelers- getting out of the tour buses in Coldfoot shaking their heads. This is an area for those with a significant engineering interest. The fly one way option is definately necessary, but look at what else is during the other days, since this takes up 3?? You could be shortchanging time needed at Denali Park- 2 nights- if going via rail? or Fairbanks?
