Default Juneau tours in port

Does Alaska Adventures have a booth in the port for booking tours that day? We are considering Glacier Float Trip or Sea Kayaking as well as the Salmon Bake and/or tram but want to wait and see what the weather is like before we decide which of these we do. The float and kayak trip are not "must do" excursions for us so waiting and possibly missing out would not be a problem for us.

Also, when you arrive in port, are there multiple companies that offer the Salmon Bake or is Alaska Adventures the only way to go?

Finally, is Alaska Adventures a middle man company or direct?

TIA!

It is doubtful there will be any availability for the sea kayaking day of arrival and I do not recommend the Mendenhall float trip. Brief distant view of the glacier, rest of trip is trees and backyards. Money is far better spent elsewhere- giving you first hand info.
Alaska Adventures is a middle man for the float trips and probably the kayaking? There are shuttle buses for both salmon bakes in Juneau. My preference is Thane Ore, but the Gold Creek is also good with a frequent loop bus.

Instead of the float trip, consider the canoe to Mendenhall glacier. It's a gorgeous trip, and you get very close to the glacier. You'll then get out by the waterfall and have a snack and photo op, then a leisurely ride back past icebergs in the lake.

Gold Belt Tours operates it for the cruise lines, not sure if they book independently. www.goldbelttours.com

The sea-kayaking, the fooat and the Salmon Creek Salmon bake are all operated by Alaska Travel Adventures. The tram is owned by Goldbelt. You can just walk up and buy a tram ticket, any of the vendor booths will sell you salmon bake tickets, the float trip is no great shakes and you need to book the sea-kayaking in advance if you want to go.

Also one idiosyncracy about Juneau weather. Because of the mountains and the glacier we have a number of different weather zones, I live out near the glacier (about 13 miles out) I pass through as many as nine different weather zones coming downtown. Sooo, the weather you observe getting off the ship may not be the weather at the sea-kayaking or salmon bake. (One advantage of Thane Ore House is you can eat indoors, Salmon Creek has shelters but you are outrside.

Having said that in Juneau it's always safe to be prepared for rain. We are a rain forest.
