Default Are there any disadvantages if i will do direct booking?

I'm thinking of doing the Valley of the Glaciers Tour in Skagway with Temsco.

From the ship it costs $219. Direct booking its $199.
I'm thinking of doing direct booking and we'd save $60 for the 3 of us.

Just wondering if something happens like i get sick on that day and i can't go.
Will it be easier to cancel the booked from the ship?...i'm thinking if the $60 saved will be worth it...

Do you plan on being sick, or get sick frequently??? Cancelations are usually more liberal from the ship. But you will be going with the SAME company no matter how you book. TEMSCO is the only helicopter company in Skagway. Verify all cancelation policies and go with their timing recommendation if you direct book. No way would I be paying $60 more myself.

Another thing, I think (Karen??) is supposedly if you book throught he ship and your tour gets back late they wait for you but (if your ship is leaving) if you book independently and you're late they could leave without you. Bet thats not happened to anyone that reads these post, though.

Easy solution, make your tour time early and save the $$$$$ that booking independently will do.

Frankly if you miss your ship, it's most likely your fault for poor planning. Especially in Alaska very simple to arrange independent touring. Necessary- FULLY disclose your ship and port times, and then go with the operator's recommendation for timing.
