Want to do Mt. Roberts Tram, Whale Watch with Capt. Larry, and Mendenhall. Yes, my ship offers tours; however, I'm thinking I could save $$ by booking everything on my own and possibly have smaller group?
Where do I catch "shuttle" for tramway? Is there a shuttle from Tramway to Mendenhall? I figure Capt. Larry will pick us up at the dock. Thanks for suggestions, etc.! OR do I bite the bullet and pay Cruise line.
Two of the docks are right downtown. One is actually right at the tram station the other about a block away. The two other docks have shuttles right where you get off the ship that take you to the tram plaza. Captain Larry's office is right acrosss from the tram, but I suggest you buy in advance so you are assured of a seat http://www.Orcaenterprises.com
There are shuttles to the Mendenhall Glacier. You can purchase tickets at the vendor booth at the tram plaza dock
For best use of your time and saving at least an hour of shuttle time, see if Orca Enterprises can drop off/pick up at Mendenhall. For the other direction you would just pick up the $5pp shuttle. The tramway is at the dock, hard to miss. Always book tours ahead, very little availability at the dock for anything other than city bus tours. Don't expect savings except for Mendenhall Glacier. The reason for the independents are better tours, locally run and superior personal attention.
