Default What is the least expensive way to see the Misty Fjord

we already booked a heli and a flightseeing tour and we don't want to spend a lot more money for misty fjord so, we don't want to take the seaplane. the cruise tour costs $140...is there any other way to see misty fjord for a lesser price?

This is a sail in??? It will take up probably most if not all of your Ketchikan port time. Be sure you want to invest that much time, especially if you are a first time visitor??

No significantly cheaper option, and with a short port day- you want a ship excursion to guarantee you will be back in time.

Seaplanes are just excellent here with the above views that are superior in Misty Fjords. Be certain you won't regret not doing it??? What is your flightseeing tour?? Did you happen to book the helicopter with Coastal who has the cheapest option?? My opinion only- I am a clear advocate of varied Alaska touring, do all that you can.

we're doing the valley of the glaciers (direct thru temsco) in skagway because we have more time there....also the flighseeing mckinley summit...

...taking another flightseeing will be very costly...what are my other options in ketchikan if i can't do the misty fjord...though i would really love to see that

Are you using toursaver for the summit flight?? Frankly - this isn't the place to skimp if if is of interest. Plenty of regret repeat visitors.

Anyway- look over a shore excursion list and see what catches your eye? For more information requst their visitor guide www.visit-ketchikan.com Ketchikan is excellent for a walking tour, pick up a map at the dock visitor center.

I have the same problem, but deicded to spend a little extra and really make this a great experience. We're booked with SeaWind Aviation and will do the Misty Fjords Tour for $199. www.seawindaviation.com. Check them out.
