Default taking cash

I was wondering if it is hard to break large bills in Alaska. I am Canadian and because of bogus bills there are not alot of places that accept large bills here. My question is... Should I plan on taking smaller bills with me.... Thanks

I took 100s,20s,10s,5s and 1s.I never had anyone refuse the 100s,but I did give them when I needed little change back. Dot
