How dressy do you get?

We're going on the Summit back to back next week and I'm wondering how formal everyone gets for Alaska cruises? We've been on the Summit in the Caribbean and it was quite formal, even on semiformal nights. I wanted to be prepared this time but didn't know if things were toned down when it's a lot colder.

I just got off the Mercury,and from what I understand the Summit would be about the same.I treated the semi formal almost like I did formal night..On semi formal nights my hubby did not have to wear a tie if he didnt want to,but he wore the full suit,and I would say that more than half the men did at our seating.But,I will say,that I saw some ppl bucking the system! ...

Celebrity is more formal, but certainly there is a wide range of attire.
