Default Sitka

I would like to know what is the best thing to do out of Sitka. I will be there in a couple of weeks and would like to know what might be the best excursions to book from there??

Thanks,
Toast

What is of interest to you??? Look over your shore excursion list. Top attractions are the wildlife boat tours, only place to see sea otters on the inside passage in numbers. There is the Sitka National Park walkable, Raptor Center, also walkable, but Sitka does operate an all day shuttle for $7. www.sitka.org

What ship will you be on? We just got back from NCL Dream. All ships have to tender there. They gave out numbered tickets, and you went when your number was called. The people who booked a tour with the ship got off first. Lucky them! Our ship was the farthest away from the dock, and it was a long boat ride over. It took a very long time to get everyone off the ship. We were in port from 2pm to 8pm. NCL told us the last tender returning to the ship would be at 7pm. Some other passengers told us heir number wasn't called to the ship leave until 5:30, so, they said they didn't even bother going at that point. My advice for anyone on NCL, book a ship excursions or get in line early to get good ticket. We were lucky and got to go on the second batch of numbers called.

Sitka is very walkable. You can stroll along Lincoln from Castle Hill to the park, stopping at the church, the Bishop's House, & the Sheldon Jackson Museum on the way.

The Russian Dancers also put on a cute show.

I hope you have as good a time as I did in Sitka.
