john avant & frank black

about the food on rci radiance, i'm a little nervous now. is the food really dreadful? does the ship make up for the food in other areas such as cabins, entertainment, casino, programs, kids clubs, service???

We thought it was great in May. No complaints here.

It really is bad. I sure wouldn't want you to have to put up with it. So just send me your tickets and I will save you!!!! Just lower your expectations about food and concentrate on where you are and what you are doing.

ha ha, you scared me there a second with your first line. i know food is subjective and i have read almost as many good review as i did bad reviews about the food. i am still extremely excited to be going on vacation, on a cruise, and of course to alaska. just the pre-cruise jitters and an addiction to this website because it is somewhat helpful and kills time before we go (3 more days left!!!!)

Like I said in the other post - we didn't have any complaints. Ever eat at any buffet in LV? Well it is better than those. Ever eat at the Top of the Marriott in NYC or Culinary Institue of America in Hyde Park? Well it isn't really quite like that. Ever stay at an all-inclusive resort? boring boring-always the same - well much more variety than that. Yes there is lobster (your question from before). Yes Chops & Portfino are good but we figure we still got variety & everyone seems to gain enough wt on cruises - why pay the extra $, would rather spend the $ on seeing some of the stuff there is to do in the ports. You will not starve for sure. The midnite Gala buffet is quite something to see & sample as was the midnite chocolate buffet (that was more fun watching people endulge like zombies on the chocolate). Relax about the food & you will enjoy your trip.

thank you for the comparisons, they do give me a pretty good idea of what the food will be like. i wasn't really concerned about the food primarily until i read a couple of bad reviews. i'm over it now and ready and excited about our trip and ports. thanks for all the advice everyone. i will be sure to post a review as soon as i get back since there are quite a few people going on this cruise in the near future.
