I just returned last night from our WONDERFUL cruise to Alaska. I want to share a fabulous excursion in Ketchikan - the Mountain Point Snorkeling Adventure.
I was very hesitant to go snorkeling in such a cold climate as Alaska, but the experience was one of the most memorable experiences of my cruise. I was afraid of being too cold, but our wet suits kept us warm enough. By the time we exited the water my hands were cold, but that was all!
The sea life was bountiful - we saw at least 8 varieties of star fish, huge sea cucumbers and a variety of other creatures. Our guides were attentive, informative, and fun to be with.
Ketchikan receives over 16 feet of rain each year, so it was not unusual for it to start raining during our snorkel adventure. Laying in the water with the fabulous sea life below and the beating of the rain on my back along with the soothing sounds of both rain and sea will remain with me forever!
If you get a chance to snorkel in Ketchikan, I would give it a "Two Thumbs Up!"
