Victoria BC/carriage rides/Empress Hotel Tea/Butchart Garden
Has anyone done the Empress Hotel Tea offered? It sounded so fun, is the tour before nice, do you see lots of Victoria?
Also, Carriage rides, are they worth the money? I see online you can book up to 6 people for the price of 2, can you usually round up other cruisers who want to go?
Has anybody gone to Butchart Gardens? Is it worth the $59, Princess is charging for admission & transportation? Thanks.
A great deal depends how much time you have in Victoria, plenty of ships only have a couple hours that greatly limits you to ship tours.
The Empress Hotel has a very high cost tea, my opinion only, around $40capp. Butchart Gardens is just excellent always a must do for me every trip. You can get there via city bus, but time is needed which as I mention, most cruise ships do not have.
Carriage rides go around the inner harbor, plenty of people like them.
On our repositioning cruise in May, we stopped in Victoria and did Butchart Gardens and the Butterfly farm tour thru our cruiseline, RCI. I think it was about the same $. You can get there by city bus or taxi but with traffic to and from, we like the insurance doing it thru the ship. It was a wonderful day and we had plenty of time at both venues. Wonderful beautiful pictures too!
