the balconies..on Island Princess

I was wondering if when you have a balcony on an Alaskan cruise...is the balcony set up in a way in which we can leisurley sit and enjoy the view? or do we have to stand in order to see anything???? I have a bad knee, bad hip too...so standing all the time is not fun.

My first cruise I will have a "double room with balcony" -- i see balcony is just large enough to have a "small" table on it...but is the balcony comfortable for 2 people to manuver on?? We are not small size people, so i was wondering.

5 days in Denali (3 of those deep in the park at Kantishna Roadhouse)
GoldStar dome train back to Anchorage

Regular balconies are approximately 4'x8', maybe a little longer. There is plenty of room for 2 people to get around. We have always had 2 chairs and a small table.

so, what about standing vs sitting on the balcony: in order to see anything, to enjoy the view going to alaska...does one have to stand all the time???

See if you can get a photo of the island and see what kind of balconies they have. But I would say, definately yes you will have to stand to see anything significant and looking though plexiglass won't be ideal anyway. Why not plan on using a lounge etc with full view enclosed, clean glass etc??
