I am sure someone can tell me if maps are easily supplied in the ports...if not, i am going to make my own before i leave home...thanks...
Most of the ports of call are sufficiently small that you really don't need a map if you are just walking in town on your own. There is, however, a map of the shopping district in the port guides that the ships distribute onboard.
If you decide to rent a car, the rental car company will have complementary maps available. They usually are adequate.
Request visitor guides before leaving, all have maps, most ports also have visitor centers, that have free walking tours.
As for rental cars, don't expect maps at Inside Passage ports and bring your own either from home or a prior stop at the visitor center. If renting out of Skagway, DEFINATELY print out and bring with you, Murray's excellent South Klondike Highway log. www.explorenorth.com
