After roaming all over the CruiseMates site, I have learned so much.
We are first time cruisers and going to Alaska at that. I'm sure this spur of the moment decision will turn out to be a good one.
We are an older couple, used to casino buffets and eating at places like Applebees and the steak houses everyone knows. We've traveled to Cancun and Hawaii and mostly auto trips around the states.
We don't do the fancy restaurants and don't see many shows here in Tennessee so I think that all Princess will offer us will be plenty.
I appreciate all the advice and tips and they will help me plan ahead to handle any problems that may arise.
Thanks,
gmann
You will have a great experience. We live in Ohio and also are from a country sitting. To eat at Applebees we drive 30 miles. We cruised the Princess Diamond and it was great. We had the anytime dining. This allowed us to choose when and where to eat. The buffets were nice, seating is comparable to Applebees. The dining rooms were great. We had 4 to choose from. Just walk up and ask for a table for 2. They are not fancy. You can walk in them during the day and check them out. We never waited more then 10 seconds to be seated. We actually asked for the same table everynight . After the 3rd. night we didn't even have to ask ,we were led to the table. The dress in these dining rooms were casual. I must say out of all of the cruises I have been on this was the most casual. Relax and enjoy. Don't sweat feeling out of place. You will find 99% of the persons on the ship are everyday folks , that are as excited to be cruising as you are. Ohio Cruisers
