Victoria Question--Orca Whale watching

Going on NCL Pearl June 2007

Have been to Victoria numerous times in the past. Have seen the city and the Gardens that are beautiful.

NCL's excursion website has a really cool excursion that we are considering.

"Orca Whale Watching & Wildlife Tour----The waters surrounding Victoria and southern Vancouver Island team with an abundance of wildlife. In the summer season the area is home to one of the finest viewing places for orca whales anywhere in the world. "

Anyone done this before? Cost is $120. Is orca killer whale watching good there? Is is better/cheaper to book this excursion privately?

Orca whale watching is a top tour option in Victoria with the 3 resident orca pods. I am surprised with your "numerous" trips here that you missed this?? Many advertisements and boat tours available. Prince of Whales is a big operator right on the Inner Harbor.

You have no option for an independent vender, you get in too late for all the scheduled tours, unless you are looking for a private, costly charter?
