Default High Tea Empress Hotel/Victoria

Flying into Vancouver a day before our cruise. We will be arriving Vancouver around 12:30 pm which means we won't get to our hotel until 2:00 or 2:30 pm. I am wondering if this is too ambitious.
One in our group wants to take the ferry to Victoria for the famed "taking of High Tea" at the Empress hotel.
We will not get to Vancouver in time for a guided tour. So we are on our own getting to and from Victoria. Its our understanding we can take a ferry to Victoria.

Does anyone know how long that would take? Ferry to Victoria, tea, and ferry back to Vancouver. At what point do the ferries close down or do they run all night? Not knowing where the ferry docks either place I'm wondering if this is too ambitious. How would one get to the ferry in Vancouver, and to the Empress in Victoria.

Sorry you do not have enough time. The ferry is 1 hour 35 mins. Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay, then time to Victoria- 30 min..
I always take a car over and never for a day trip.

The Empress tea is also in the $50ca pp range. running 12pm -5pm

Thanks Karen,

I was afraid this was going to be too ambitious. I read somewhere that this is at least a 10 hr time frame, including time for tea. Just getting off of a long flight(6hrs.) from Dallas I'm not sure we would have felt like more travel anyway.

Thanks again for your reply
