It has come to my attention that the latest edition of "Foders" is reporting that Alsaka Cruisers taking the helicopter tours to the glaciers should be mindful of fully checking the saftey records of the excursions being considered. It seems Foders has reported that, due to the many helicopters now offering this tour the incidence of crashes is increasing. Any thoughts on this from any of you that took helicopter tours?
There are only 4 companies that have been in business for years. Easy to check if needed. I have flown with 3 and would (and have) do so without hesistation.
Fodors also has out of date information about a number of other topics too... Remember, the 2007 edition can only be as current as 2006, and if there was ONE problem in 2005 then the accident rate would be said to be "increasing" from none in 2004... (those aren't accurate numbers, I'm just presenting the theory.)
I'd be happy climbing in any of the helis arriving in town now.
