Hi FT,
Be sure to go whale watching in Juneau. I went with Capt. Larry and had a great time, saw lots of whales and enjoyed his narritive knowledge throughout the excursion. You can easily find his web-site and enquire.

Take the bus from the dock to Mendenhall Glacier. It's about $12 round trip each. Small extra amount to enter the visitor center.

A whale watch excursion is always great IMHO.

If the weather's clear and you're not afraid of heights take the Mt Roberts tram up the hill. Don't bother however if it's overcast.

Walk around town. It's a bit hilly but there's a nice museum or 2 and the Russian church, etc. Plus shopping of course......always shopping.

Gosh Peter,
How could I possibly forget the shopping. Very simular to shopping in the Caribbean with a slightly different change in merchandise. There was also an old time salon somewhere, may have been Juneau, worth a stop for a quick drink and leave your calling card.

No "old time salon" in Juneau... there is, however, the Red Dog Saloon (two 'o's) that is Alaska's oldest man-made tourist attraction. Certainly worth a peek.
