Cruise ports that allow you to drive from one to another

Are there any cruise ports where you can get off the ship and drive from one port to the next and rejoin the cruise the next day or night?

In Alaska, it's physically impossible to drive between the cruise ports because most of the ports of call have no roads in or out. The only roads are local streets. All people and goods come and go by air or by sea.

There is a road between Haynes and Skagway, but I'm not aware of any cruise lines with an itinerary that calls at both of those ports.

Thanks Norm, Someone had told me you could drive to the next port, but I looked at Google Maps and didn't see any roads. It's about a 15 hour drive from Shagway to Anchorage, too!

It's Haines, and over 300 miles to drive to Skagway.

Your "someone" is wrong. I was in Juneau a few years ago, at a car rental office, and overheard a customer, ARGUING with the owner about the "Marine Highway". They were insisting that they were going to "drive" to Skagway, since it was on the map with a dotted line. I'm not sure if they got it, but the owner just wasn't making any headway with their fixed idea.

I've rented cars in most ports. It is a great option if you want something different, and no way to get lost. Just do your homework and make certain you map out what you wish to see and do before you get there and have plans.
