Default Best salmon bake - your opinion

Dad wants to do a salmon bake. We will be visiting Juneau, Skagway and Icy Point Strait. What salmon bake did you like?

My opinion only, the Gold Creek Salmon bake in Juneau and the Liarsville in Skagway are both good, but superior is Thane Ore House resturant out of Juneau. They will pick up and shuttle you from the dock with advance reservations, about 4 miles south.

Thanks Karen. Googled Thane Or House and plenty of great reviews. Sounds like a lot of fun and great food. Am sooooo looking forward to this cruise. Don't know how I am going to manage the wait until next summer!

We did Gold Creek salmon bake in Juneau. It was great !!
The people were very nice, and tried hard to make it pleasant for us as it was raining then. (had roof covered)
The owner had his dog there--a Siberian Husky--who was fun to play with.
There ia also a gift shop. We didn't buy anything, but many people did.

There is also a creek/river where the salmon swim up to spawn. We were there in May, so didn't see any salmon.

We would do it again.

When we were in Juneau at the Macaulay salmon hatchery, we asked about a salmon bake and they suggested Gold Creek which we tried and we thought excellent.

Default Gold Creek

Throw another notch up there for Juneau. It's hands down the best i've experienced. Alaska is home to my belly.

I did the one in Liarsville and Juneau. Liarsville had better salmon (sockeye). But Juneau had clam chowder, better music, and you could relax as you ate...while the one at Liarsville I felt you had to finish quickly, as you had to get over to the other side and watch the "Show" in time.

What is the complete menu at the Salmon Bakes? How much are they?
Will be in Juneau and Ketchikan.
