about to book a cruise on carnival spirit and am holding a cabin right now (5297) upper deck. What are your feelings on aft balconies for alaska cruises going southbound? Last time I had aft for glacier bay and loved it. Any feedback? Any preference on right or left sides? thanks
I think the Aft balconies are terrific on just about any cruise. Even more so on itins like Alaska, where you get great panoramic views... and can still run into the cabin for breaks if you get chilly.
Oh cool!! I actually booked a room on the Upper Deck of the Spirit -- have cabins above and below so don't have to worry about any other noice from dining areas. Thanks!
another good thing about the Aft facing cabins is there is hardly any wind to deal with... We loved our aft corner balcony we had on the Spirit last year..It was on the Empress Deck..This year we have a corner aft on the Main deck..Cant wait to go back!

We've booked the same cabin as you, except two decks higher on the Verandah deck (free past guest 2 category upgrade!). I have to say we're definitely looking forward to it! Can't beat the fact that it's an extended balcony as well!!
