We tried to get something other than Carnival to Alaska but finally went with Spirit in September because its the only one we found to do Glacier Bay for a reasonable fare. Princess was our other choice.

20 years ago we had Johnny Cash, Bob Hope and Steve Jobs. Now we have no Cash, no Hope and no Jobs. Please don't let Kevin Bacon die.
I'm still trying to pick a ship and ports for Alaska in 08, and so far I like Coral Princess and Serenade of the Seas. Have anyone of you cruised either of these and how did you like it?
I have sailed the Coral Princess to Alaska and it was an outstanding ship and cruise. My feeling is that Princess does the best job in Alaska and the fact that you would have two glacier days on the Coral is a big plus over those cruise lines that offer one or no glacier days. If time permits try and stay for as long as you can in Alaska, before or after your cruise and rent a car and drive through part of that beautiful state.
If your ship stops in Skagway you might consider renting a car and driving to Emerald Lake. It is one of the most scenic drives in the world and it takes about five hours round trip.
Yes, been to Alaska once, and I don't even care if I see the same ports, I just love the beauty/senery and the overall feeling of being there. I doubt I can get the time to do an interior trip, hopefully someday when I have more time.
