I am booked on the Holland American Amerstdam, leaving Seattle on July 27. One of the port listed is glacier Bay National Park. The itinerary says that it arrives at 10am and departs at 7pm. The last time I was on an Alaska cruise, it cruise through Glacier Bay. Is this different? Do we actually dock and get off the ship to walk around the Park? Are there shore excursions? I can't seemed to find anything on the net. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Pat:
If HAL listed Glacier Bay as a port they really should have said "cruising Glacier Bay". There are no tours in Glacier Bay and the ship will not land anywhere in Glacier Bay National Park - or at least it had better not!
Have a great cruise.
Thanks, Wave Runner. There is actually a Glacier Bay National Park and there is a hotel there. I was hoping that we will be able to walk around there. Oh well...
