Plan on wet and cool (50's and 60's most days near the ocean, and cooler still if it's windy or you're on/near a glacier.)

Just plan on rain every day, and layer for the temps. Then, if it's sunny and warm, it will be a pleasant surprise instead of being unpleasantly surprised by wet weather that you're not prepared for.

This all might seem intentionally vague, but the weather forecast for Juneau today was for 6" of new snow, and instead we got 45 degrees and a driveway full of slush... I trust the forecasts here about as far as I can throw them.

You are asking a question that can not be answered. If can involve a wide range of potential weather. You are best to be prepared for it all. There can be even dramatic changes week to week.

Well, the question CAN be answered, Karen... just not with any degree of certainty. We always EXPECT wet and cool weather. Then, when it does change (hourly, daily, weekly) it's usually a pleasant surprise.

"What is the expected weather...?" Cool, wet and always changing!

I have read enough posts on the weather to already be prepared to bring some sort of raingear when we go next year. My sister is waiting for rain to stop for a nascar racee, and I sent her a text message and told her you know we have to bring raingear when we go next year. I like to be prepared for the worst and surprised when it turns out better!
