We will be in Ketchikan on Wednesday July 23, 2008. Would Anan Creek be our best option for bear viewing or would you recommend another area. Thank you.

Yes, I would definately go to Anan in this timeframe. You are too early for Traitors, and at the very begining of Neets.

If Ketchikan is your best stop for bear viewing, yes... go to Anan. If other ports are also an option, Pack Creek out of Juneau should be VERY busy that week, and the bear tours at Hoonah are also likely to be very productive.
