Everyone recommends Davey of EstherG(puffinsand whales) but he is booked May 29. Arriving on Westerdam and hopefully there is a recommended reasonably priced option on a small to medium sized boat--would like to see variety of wildlife. Please help.
Also, would you recommend whale (and wildlife) watching in Juneau or in Sitka?
Until the new port facility is completed in Hobart Bay, you can't beat the whale watching in Juneau. For a great "small boat" experience, try Harv & Marv, Alaskan Marine Adventures, Alaska Trophy Fishing/Whale Watching, or Rum Runner Charters.
In the interest of "full disclosure", one of the businesses I mention above IS mine. Pick your tour based on time on the water and the personality of the captain above all else. Oh, and choose the one offered at a time that best fits your schedule so you can slip a few other activities in for the day as well.
