Default Anchorage or Whittier

We (4 adults) are going southbound in August. Trying to decide if we should get up early and do Prince William Sound tour out of Whittier or hang aroung Anchorage until 3pm. Don't want to take PWS tour if we are going to see glaciers the next day. What did some of you southbounders do? Flying in late the night before so can only do one or the other? Thanks[c

I think I would do the PWS tour..To me Glaciers are awesome and 2 days of Glaciers would be heaven...PLUS you never know what the weather will be like..Our only Glacier Sailing was fogged out and there was to much Ice to get close enough to see Harvard Glacier..We were fortunate that we had a day cruise planned for Tracy Arm where we got to see Sawyer Glacier up close...
If you only have one Glacier Sailing its good to have a back up plan..

Thank you so much KellyW. It helps to get an outsiders opinion. Did you (or anyone else out their) take a PWS tour and if so, any word on using Major Marines or PWS company. Thanks again!

No we did not only because we did not know it was availible..Had we known definately we would have toured PWS...Specially with missing alot of College Fjord...Case made a good point saying that the not so great tour operators are usually weeded out..Go with a tour company that has been around for awhile..Maybe Case can suggest a few tour companies for you..
