Haines - Where does Ship Dock
Have not been on these boards in awhile but I am trying to find info on which dock the Dawn Priness uses in Haines. I have a fast ferry to skagway booked but anm told that one pier is a short walk and the other a long walk to where the ferry embarks.
I am trying to get my senior parents and my sister (who is confined to a wheelchair) over to skagway for the train ride.
Thanks for any help.
There is only one dock in Haines. Therefore only one ship at a time docks at Haines.
Hi DD, The lady at the fast ferry company that took over for chilkot cruises misinformed me. I found out later that there are 2 doscks but only one for the cruise ships and one for the ferry and they are like 1000 ft apart at most. Then i left them 2 message in a week and no c/b. since chilkot cruises went bancrupt and the new people havent shown me much, I am not going to lay down the full amount like they want me too. We aere going to wait until we get there and if there is space available for Skagway we will do it. If not it will be an easy day cause haines doesnt look like it has too much in way of accessbiel tours.
anyway....thanks for the help!
Fast Ferry ride
I notice your posting and I actually called the ferry company direct and they were able to help me with my questions. All you need to do is go on line to Google type in Haines Ferry and it will bring you to their web site with times and prices. Just an fyi price is $31.00 each way. As far as your parents I would just take a short cab ride to the ferry dock, then you won't have to worry about walking at all. I will be taking a ferry from Skaway to haines to rent a car to see the wildlife in the state parks.
Star Princess leaving out of Seattle July 6th,
Hope this helps you....
