Has anyone done this? I'm going in July and I wonder if this excursion is worth the $. Do you actually get to play with husky puppies?
Does anyone suggest a different excursion in Skagway for a thirty something who is in good health? I have already signed up for a climbing/zip-lining excursion in Ketchikan.
We did this excursion with Celebrity. We rode in the wheeled cart, played with the puppies, and heard about the musher's experience with the Idirod (SP?). It was a great excursion and worth the dollars. I wanted to sneak a puppy on the ship.

Consider renting a car and going to the musher's camp at Carcross ( http://yukonhuskies.com) - much cheaper, smaller groups and you have the flexibility to stop and hike or sightsee as you choose. Several tour operators offer tours that include this camp as well.
