Excuse me if this is a dumb question, but what time zone will the ship "use"? We are leaving from Vancouver but end in Anchorage. The ship is registered in the Bahamas. We live in the eastern time zone so time is liable to be 4-5 hours ahead of what we are used to.

Thanks in advance!
Each cruise line is a bit different, but you'll get several notices to re-set your clocks/watches when crossing from Pacific time into Alaska time. Tour times, etc. are all local to the area in which you're taking them, and Alaska time is exactly 4 hours BEHIND US Eastern time, not ahead... Right now it's 9:03 pm Alaska time, which is 1:00 am Eastern time.
Happy Alaska Travels!

Just got back from fab trip on HAL out of Seattle. Although the ship didn't change to ADT until after our second day out, my cell phone (which I use instead of a watch) changed as soon as we physically crossed the line. Just FYI - it was a little disorienting - that and trying to remember which side was port and which was starboard!
A tidbit about time zones... what's cool is most ships give you a little newsletter-style schedule each morning to tell you what day it is, what time it is, when and where events wlil be held, etc. This is helpful on cruises of all lengths. When I am not at work with a calendar in front of me all the time, I forget what day it is! (A nice by-product of vacation.)
