Thanks to the great advice I got here I have decided to do HAL to Alaska in August which includes Glacier Bay. I am booking an aft SC Suite and have chosen deck 5 for the large covered balcony. Good choice? And could someone tell me if it makes a difference whether I am port or starboard? Thanks.
IF you only want viewing of Glacier Bay from your cabin, you need a port side cabin. IF You plan on being out on deck- where the most viewing potential is, then it doesn't matter as much.
Thank you Karen. I plan to be all over to get all the views, but I do like to spend time on my own balcony as well. I just wanted to make sure to pick the right side of the ship for when we are on the balcony. Thanks again for you advice.
I've heard that the ship turns once or twice so both sides of the ship get equal glacier time, and that port gets first view, as the ship is entering the bay.
Please confirm. I'm still on "guarantee" on my room, so it hasn't been assigned yet. i booked close to last minute.
Does anyone have a great upgrade story for a "guarantee" booking?
