IMHO Vancouver is the better starting/ending point for an inside passage round trip cruise. You'll be closer to land and spend more time in the inside passage.
I have to agree with Peter all the way. I've cruised from both Seattle and Vancouver, Vancouver wins hands down. I had no idea that by cruising from Seattle you'd be so far away from land almost the entire cruise, nothing like going from Vancouver. Even if its more money and air fare, I'd still pay the extra.

You didn't know this before you booked and went?? I am surprised since you are a board monitor.
Yea, I know Karen....The itinary says "inside passage", certainly NOT what I considered to be inside...When I booked that one, it was the only ship that still had cabins, still worth the trip.

I find with multiple trips, it can involve some compromises to take advantage of other priorities in your bookings.
I think it can be more important for first or second timers to perhaps be very selective in their choices.
