What, nobody going to Alaska this summer? Time for booking is growing short, but very few postings on this forum!

Doesn't look as if we will make it this year. Next year will probably be our ninth cruise to Alaska ...

Too old here to do repeat cruises ,so much to see ,not enough time.

We are doing our 2nd trip, this time June, one week on our own before a 7 day southbound. Can't wait.

Bookings could be slow because

1. They are waiting for prices to drop.

2. After this winter people want to go somewhere warm.

3. Cruisers post elsewhere?

Ah, now there is a good topic for discussion. Maybe it should go on another board!

We keep going back to Alaska for several reasons. First the glaciers are a different and more thrilling sight every time. Second there are so many different options in each port that visiting them again and again is fun. Third it has just the right number of sea days for relaxation with beautiful scenery. Fourth it is very convenient from the West Coast where we live.

Alaska is pretty much the only place we consistently repeat, though.

We booked our May 21 cruise on the Golden last Fall. We've had a LONG, cold, snowy Winter and many times the forecast for our ports in Alaska has been better than ours. With the storm predicted for tomorrow, we're joking about looking for a home in Alaska....
