Default Carnival Alaska cruise

I have sail 4 times with Carnival....wanting to find a cruise to Alaska in May 2014...question? Has anyone taken this cruise with Carnival. I know there are more luxury cruises than this one but the price is good. Please help if you can!! Thanks Sue

Hi Sue,
Since an Alaska cruise is a once in a lifetime kind of trip, I would do your homework and check out other cruiselines for more/different ports that will interest you. Both Princess and HAL have more ships cruising in Alaska and different routes that are wonderful...

I have heard many positive review of Carnival in Alaska, but don't just limit yourself to one or two ships....

I agree with Donna!

Alaska is one of those places many people only get to do once in their lives, so it's important to do your homework before deciding for or against any one particular cruise line.

Plus, if you look at rates for next year, there are several wonderful cruise ships that are not only nicer than the Carnival Miracle, but on several occasions are cheaper! These include Celebrity, Holland America, NCL, and Royal Caribbean.

Best thing to do is talk to your agent, preferably a Cruise Specialist who's been to Alaska and can give you alot of first-hand information to consider when selecting which cruise is the best one for you.

Pete

As they say you get what you pay for! I steer clear of Carnival in Alaska! I have cruised Alaska over eight times - I highly recommend any other line for Alaska sailings! Select Princess (Crown Princess , Golden or Grand), Royal Caribbean Radiance of the Seas, or Celebrity Cruiseline's Century or even Norwegian Sun or Holland America and you are world's apart in service, food, safety and the whole experience than Carnival! In fact I don't know if you could pay me to take a Carnival Cruise in Alaska!

Hi Sue,

My family has cruised Alaska twice on the Carnival Spirit. We enjoyed the trips on Carnival. Then we took our first Princess cruise on the Sapphire Princess and became Princess lovers. We were very impressed with Princess and felt that it was far superior to the Carnival cruises. We actually paid less for the Princess cruise than we did for either of the Carnival cruises.

I have never been on Celebrity or Holland America, but there seem to be some really great prices out there for them right now.

No matter which line you go with, Alaska is a beautiful trip and you will have a wonderful time.
